Tony Pawson (1952-2013)Friday, 09 August 2013 13:23
With sadness, we have learned that last Wednesday, Tony Pawson of the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute at Mount Sinai has unexpectedly died at the age of 60. Tony Pawson was among the world leading scientists studying signal transduction and only a few weeks ago, it was announced that he would be the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement in Proteomic Sciences award at the HUPO 2013 meeting in September of this year.
Tony Pawson has been a dedicated scientist throughout his career and his latest publication, was a collaboration between a large number of proteomics researchers, involving multiple research groups of PRIME-XS, in which he served on the Scientific Advisory Board.
We would like to thank Tony Pawson for his inspiring contribution to the fields of proteomics and signal transduction research and wish all the best to his family, friend and colleagues at this difficult and sad time.
